Aircraft assigned to the 62nd Avn. Company in 1973
The 62 Avn Co was the only remaining Avn Co and aircraft support left in I Corps. A lot of aircraft were transfered to the VNAF. The 8 types we had were sent through the 62nd Avn Co to be rotated back state side..

62nd Aviation Company (Corps)
62ND AVN Co Aircraft at MRAAF Trivia:  While the 62nd was in Germany (first at Hanau Army Air
Field and later Maurice Rose Army Heliport) it was comprised of 18 UH-1H (17 in the Command
Flight Plt and 1 in the Maint Plt), 20 OH-58A, and 1 each C-12 and U-21.  At its peak in 1985-86
the Command Flight Plt had 19 aircraft when the Battalion Commander temporarily reassigned the
2 UH-1H from the 295th Avn (Chinook) to the 62nd.  The fixed wing were initially based in Hanau
but in late 1984 were moved to Wiesbaden when the 11th Bn headquarters was relocated from
Maurice Rose to Wiesbaden in August 1984.  As part of the BN HQ relocation, the 62nd Flight
Detachment was also formed at Wiesbaden and was comprised of the 2 fixed winged aircraft, 3
UH-1H from the Command Flight Platoon, and 2 OH-58A from the Scout Plt.  The primary purpose
of placing the rotary wing aircraft at Wiesbaden was to directly support the training and mission
requirements of the Battalion and Group staff aviators.  Below is a partial listing of the UH-1H
aircraft assigned to the 62nd from 1984-1987.
